Assembly Success Story ….fewer parts, lower inventory cost

Problem:

A valued customer needed a mechanical assembly requiring both injection molded parts and automatic screw machine parts. They had been assembling themselves for many years. Because HK provided all the components to the assembly (both screws and plastic) we were presented the opportunity to supply the entire assembly.

Solution:

HK studied the customer’s assembly process to establish a baseline for transitioning the work in-house. Once transferred, HK was able to make significant improvements to the inventory structure and cycle time. Also, quality assurance was improved by obtaining more timely feedback to the molding and screw machine processes.

Result:

Overall reduced component cost to the customer. HK was able to add value to an important customer.
